Table of Contents Service

The Hunt Library will provide you with a small portion of the book owned by the library if that will meet your information needs. You can review the Table of Contents (TOC) of a book in two ways:

  1. Many of the records of the books listed in the Voyager catalog include a TOC. You will find the TOC in the section of the Voyager record labeled Contents.
  2. If the Voyager record does not include a TOC, we will scan the TOC to be delivered via Web Document Delivery.

You can request a small portion of the book to be scanned and posted to the web for you through our Web Document Delivery system.

Note: Due to copyright law, we cannot scan substantial portions of a book. The library reserves the right to limit the amount scanned. If you need more than a small portion of the book, please request the entire book.

NOTICE: Warning Concerning Copyright Restrictions

The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material.

Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specific conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research." If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of "fair use," that user may be liable for copyright infringement.

This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law. --37 C.F.R 201.14
