The Hunt Library welcomes alumni and guests to visit the library. Borrowing privileges are available to all alumni and eligible Volusia County residents. In addition, all visitors may browse our stacks and access the Internet on select computers. All patrons are expected to adhere to the Hunt Library Code of Conduct.
The Access Services Department is located to the left upon entering the library. Guest patrons may check out most materials for a 14-day period. Loan periods vary by type of material. All patrons are responsible for any materials checked out on their cards and for any fines incurred related to those materials. More information on Overdues, Fines and Lost Materials.
Lost or stolen cards should be reported to the Access Services Desk immediately. Contact Access Services at 386-226-6592, firstname.lastname@example.org, or in person.
The Access Services Department will send any notices concerning your library account to the address we have on file for you. Please notify Access Services staff of any address or phone changes.
Hunt Library alumni and guest patrons may check out videos or DVDs for in-house use in the library's viewing area by presenting their valid EAGLEcard or Community Patron card at the Access Services Desk. The checkout period for videos or DVDs is two hours.
The Hunt Library bases our Confidentiality Policy on Florida Statute (s 257.261.F.S.0) as it pertains to patron confidentiality and privacy of patron records. Please see the library's Confidentiality Policy for more information.
Alumni may check out circulating items by presenting a valid EAGLEcard. EAGLEcards may be obtained at the EAGLEcard office in the Student Center. The entrance is at the southeast corner of the building. There is no limit to the number of items alumni who reside in Volusia County may check out from the library's collection. As a courtesy, alumni who live outside of Volusia County, but who have a valid EAGLEcard, may check out up to two items at any one time. The EAGLEcard office may be reached at 386-226-7578.

Community residents of Volusia County may obtain a community patron library card by showing proof of residency and filling out an application at the Access Services Desk. Once the application is processed, the card will be mailed to the patron's address. Check-out privileges will begin once the patron has received the card in the mail and signed it. The Community Patron card and a photo ID must be presented at the Access Services Desk on each visit in order to check out items from the library.

Community Patrons may use the Volusia County Public Library System (volusialibrary.org) to make interlibrary loan requests, as ILL for community patrons is not provided by the Hunt Library.
The Hunt Library has reciprocal borrowing agreements with three area colleges and universities:
To obtain a Community Patron status card from the Hunt Library, students from these institutions must present their valid college ID card and a current photo ID. Borrowing privileges will be activated immediately, and the new patron may check out up to two (2) items. The Community Patron card will be mailed to the patron's stated address to confirm validity. For each subsequent visit, patrons must present their community patron card as well as their institution ID and may have checked out a maximum of two items at any time.
Hunt Library does not provide Interlibrary Loan service to students from other academic institutions.
The Hunt Library accepts print donations as well as monetary contributions.

The Hunt Library accepts donations of books, magazines, and other library materials. All gifts are evaluated for addition to the collection according to our Collection Management Policy. Materials not added to the collection may be placed in the library's annual book sale. We are unable to provide in-depth research service to individuals who are not affiliated with the University. However, everyone is welcome to conduct research through our collection of freely-available web resources found on the Recommended Websites page.
The Hunt Library provides limited access to electronic resources that allow in-library use by non-Embry-Riddle affiliates on the Daytona Beach campus. To access these resources you must be in the Hunt Library. Go to the Alumni and Guest Research Databases page for access.
Pending availability, alumni and guests may be logged on to one of the 14 stand-up public computer by a Research Librarian or an Access Services staff member.
Alumni and guests are welcome to use the library's two black and white photocopiers and one color photocopier. Copies are $.10 per black and white copy and $.50 for color copies.

For most materials, overdue fines accrue at $.50 per day per item and cap at $10.00 per item. However there are exceptions for high-demand items. Recalled items accrue fines at $2.50 per item per day and cap at $50.00. Guest patrons may not place recalls on Hunt Library materials. Reserve materials that are kept past the three-hour check out period accrue fines at $.50 per item per hour or part of an hour.
An overdue notice will be sent two days after the due date. A second notice will be sent as a follow-up reminder ten days after the due date. Twenty days after the due date, the patron will be billed for the replacement cost of the item, plus a $15.00 processing fee and all applicable overdue fines.
Library privileges will be suspended for any Hunt Library Guest patron when one item is overdue or any fines are owed until the item(s) is/are returned and all fines and fees have been paid. Hunt Library Guests must pay fines/fees by personal check or cash at the Access Services Desk.
